NON-INSURANCE OF CARS SEEN AS BIG PROBLEM IN INDIA

Although 78m vehicles are sold in India every year, the number of motor insurance policies renewed for new cars the following year is only 40m, reports Hindu Business Line . The General Insurance Council, noting that this implied that the number of uninsured cars on the road rose by about 38m a year, is proposing the creation of a new agency that will link the Indian Motor Bureau with insurers and police.
