A committee has been formed by IRDA... the Indian insurance regulator, to study the how insurers can meet the healthcare insurance needs of the elderly. The committee is to be chaired by K S Sastry, former chairman of the National Housing Bank. The other members of the committee include C Chandrasekhar, chief marketing officer, Apollo DKV Insurance and K N Bandari, secretary-general of the General Insurance Council of India and former managing director and chairman of New India Assurance.
