AIA HAS HALF FOREIGN MARKET IN CHINA

American International Assurance (AIA), part of the New York-based AIG Insurance group, recorded premiums in China last year of 6.946bn yuan ($900m), giving it a 50% share of the total individual premiums received by foreign-funded life assurers in eight Chinese cities. It has a 1.71% share in the market as a whole, making it the seventh-largest assurer in China among 44 practitioners.
