CHINA CONTINENT P/C LOOKS FOR EXPORT CREDIT INSURANCE LICENCE

China Continent P/C, the primary insurance arm of China Re, is looking for an export credit insurance licence, reports SinoCast . Export credit insurance is currently exclusively operated in China by the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, better known as Sinosure. It has hitherto been designated a policy-related business, rather than one to be made available to the free market. Recently the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) released a document that said it would accelerate the growth of policy-oriented export credit insurance, and that it would also encourage commercial export credit insurance. The CIRC said that priority would be given to the exports of hi-tech products.
