NINE-MONTH PREMIUMS IN CHINA UP TO 430.9BN YUAN

Premium income for Chinese insurers in the first nine months of the year reached 430.9bn yuan, up from 382.1bn yuan at the end of August. Figures for the previous year were not supplied. The China Insurance Regulatory Commission said that the industry’s assets rose to 1.81tn yuan at the end of September, from 1.76tn yuan the month before. Property premium income in the nine months was 114.12bn yuan, up from 99.89bn yuan in the first eight months of the year. Premium income from life assurance rose to 316.8bn yuan from 282.2bn yuan in the eight months to August.
