AGREX WILL PROVIDE OUTSOURCING FOR “MINI” INSURERS
Japan-based IT outsourcing firm Agrex said that it would begin providing outsourcing services for the “mini-insurers” that
will come into existence in Japan next month as a result of the country’s revised Business Law,
Nikkei
reports. Agrex will handle operations including benefits management and call centre operations. The company claimed that it
would be able to cut start-up and operation costs for the mini-insurers by about two-thirds. It said that it aimed to sign
subcontracting agreements with about 20 companies over the next two years. For a firm looking to sell 10,000 policies the
initial cost will be about ¥100m, with annual running costs of about ¥50m.
