Taiwan-based Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE)... said today that it had not made any statement about the amount of insurance compensation it expected from losses caused by last year’s fire at its Chungli plant in northern Taiwan, or when such losses would be booked. ASE issued the statement after Economic Daily News quoted ASE chief financial officer Joseph Tung as saying that the firm would book insurance compensation at the end of June.
