Bill to criminalise provision of false information

The Securities and Futures Legislation (Provision of False Information) Bill 2000, which was gazetted on 3 March 2000 and had its First and Second Readings on 15 March 2000 in the Legislative Council, will make it a criminal offence to provide false, misleading or incomplete information to various market regulators including the Securities and Futures Commission (‘SFC’), Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, and clearing houses.
