FSA consults on its role in combating money laundering

It was obvious from even the first consultation draft of the Financial Services and Markets Bill (FSM Bill), back in July 1998, that the new unitary financial regulator would have an enhanced and more explicit role in the detection and prevention of money laundering activity being conducted via regulated financial institutions.
