Further liberalisation of foreign exchange rules

With effect from 1 April 2005, the Malaysian exchange control rules have been further liberalised. The rules on investment abroad have been eased. Previously, all residents required the prior permission of the Controller of Foreign Exchange to invest more than RM10,000 equivalent in foreign currency. From 1 April 2005:
