New Exemptions for Sections 80 and 80B of the Securities Ordinance - Securities (Miscellaneous)(Amendment) Rules 2002

On 11 October 2002, the Securities and Futures Commission (“SFC”) gazetted the Securities (Miscellaneous)(Amendment) Rules 2002 that introduce new exemptions for sections 80 and 80B of the Securities Ordinance (Note 1). These exemptions are identical to those to be made under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (“SFO”). The Rules, if passed by the Legislative Council, will become effective on 15 November 2002.
