Cyclist sues council over stump in road
A council has agreed to an out-of-court compensation settlement of £5,250 for a 17-year-old boy who broke his wrist falling
off his bicycle after it hit a stump left sticking out of the ground by council workmen. He hit the stump of a post that had
been removed by the council but not levelled. The council admitted liability for the accident. He had to take time off school
and refrain from using the gym for eight weeks.
