Major lung problems identified for WTC rescue workers

Exposure to dust after the collapse of the World Trade Center produced a substantial reduction in pulmonary function in New York City Fire Department rescue workers during the first year after 09/11/2001. This is according to research carried out at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York, and published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
