All travellers face higher risk of DVT, not just air travellers

Research by scientists from the Leiden University Medical Centre has revealed that deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is not only caused by air travel, but can be a risk factor for passengers who travel by plane, car, bus or train. The risk was greatest in the first week after travelling, and the overall risk of flying was no worse than going by car, bus or train.
