Conservative amendments to NHS Redress Bill
The Conservative Party has issued a briefing note on the NHS Redress Bill, which sets out its amendments to the bill. According
to John Baron MP, the original Bill “would have had the NHSLA carrying out the investigation of fact and fault, in effect,
as judge and jury in its own cause – a modern Court of Star Chamber.” He added that in the original Bill, “both the fact and
fault finding would have been on a ‘without prejudice’ basis…this would not be a transparent investigation.”
