Merck under fire over osteoporosis drug

The Times has reported that Merck is said to be facing legal action over another of its drugs, Fosamax, which is marketed as a treatment for osteoporosis. The paper said that class action lawyers were targeting the company because it is alleged that company knew that the medicine might have links to a rare disease that causes the patient’s jaw bone to rot and die.
