£1.26mn paid out to prison inmates in last two years
A report in the Daily Telegraph has revealed that almost 500 inmates in a sample of 10 prisons made claims over the past two
years, with those who were successful winning a total of £1.26mn. At Wormwood Scrubs, there were 48 claims lodged by inmates
for assault by staff resulting in payments of more than £1mn.
