More trouble ahead for medical malpractice

If malpractice award size continues to increase more rapidly than inflation, with the impact spilling over to other claim payments, reserve developments and rate inadequacies, then medical malpractice insurance will continue to experience many of the problems seen in the recent past, including frequent double-digit rate increases, insolvencies and market withdrawals.
