Employers and sexual harassment

Under a European directive due to come in force in 2005 employers accused of tolerating sexual harassment will have to prove they have created a ‘harassment-free’ workplace. The European Court of Justice will be the final court of appeal in these cases and employers found to have tolerated harassment could face unlimited penalties.
