Pill effects neuter male fish

Up to half of male fish in contaminated rivers are unable to produce sperm, according to the Environment Agency. This is in particular from the ‘female hormone’ effects of chemicals leaching into the water from sewage effluent in which the urine of women taking the contraceptive pill has been found much more potent than previously supposed.
