Australian government aids AMIL
The Australian government has given doctors’ mutual Australasian Medical Insurance (AMIL) a financial guarantee of A$35mn
to allow it to meet regulator requirements on capital reserves. But AMIL, which covers 60% of doctors in Australia, still
needs to raise an additional A$100mn by 2004 to meet further requirements.
