Justice committee inquiry into government’s small claims limit plans


Organisations from all sides have responded to the Justice Committee inquiry into government plans to raise the small claims limit for personal injury. In written submissions to the inquiry, the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) reiterated its support for the proposed extension of the small claims track with appropriate safeguards, while Irwin Mitchell said the proposed reforms appear to be offering little benefit to the insured motorist, and Thompsons said there is no evidence justifying any increase to the small claims limit.
