Clyde & Co has noted that new research into idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) may result in a significant increase in asbestosis
claim numbers. In an article on IPF, a condition in which the lungs become scarred and breathing becomes increasingly difficult,
Clyde & Co noted that IPF is commonly identified by a diagnosis of exclusion, and so essentially a diagnosis of lung fibrosis
of unknown cause.
