Increase of 4 per cent in road deaths in 2016, says Department for Transport


The Department for Transport has revealed there was an increase of 4 per cent in road deaths to 1,792 in 2016, the highest number of deaths since 2011. In a report, “Reported road casualties Great Britain, annual report: 2016”, the Department also revealed there was a decrease of 3 per cent in casualties of all severities to 181,384. Vehicle traffic levels increased by 2.2 per cent.
