£65,000 for asbestos pleural thickening

A retired plumbers’ mate who has asbestos pleural thickening has received £65,000 in compensation. His lawyers obtained medical evidence which showed that he was 60 per cent disabled and that half of it was due to diffuse pleural thickening. The court said that he can come back for more compensation should he get much worse or get malignant asbestos cancer such as mesothelioma or lung cancer.
