£2.7 million in compensation for RTA brain injury
The victim of a road traffic accident (RTA), which resulted in amputation and brain injury, has received £2.7 million in compensation.
He suffered significant and life-changing orthopaedic injuries, and the accident resulted in an above-the-knee amputation.
He also sustained a traumatic brain injury, which caused ongoing cognitive difficulties. He received a substantial interim
payment which allowed him to move to a property which was adapted to meet his needs. The defendant eventually made an offer
of periodic payments, but gave the claimant the option to accept a larger lump sum in a full and final settlement. The claimant
ultimately decided to take the lump sum.
