In Absalom (representing Syndicate 957 at Lloyd's) v TCRU Ltd [2005] EWHC 1090 (Comm) (forthcoming in [2005] Lloyd's Rep IR) Aikens J was called upon to answer a series of preliminary issues concerning the proper construction of various retrocessions providing for payment of brokerage. The issues related specifically to the contracts in question and do not lay down any more general propositions of law.
