reach of contract - Negligence - Failure to advise on need for a formal contract between developer and contractor

The claimants brought a claim for damages against the defendant for breaches of contract and/or duty arising in connection with the development of a luxury resort in the Caribbean. The claim was for some US $60m. The first claimant was the owner and developer of the resort and the second claimant was the principal director of the company. The defendant acted as the claimants’ accountants and business advisors. The contractor on the project, who was not part of the proceedings, was ICE (SVG) Ltd.
