Energy majors agree to repay $7.4m to Minnesota over Petrofund ‘double-dipping’ allegations

Minnesota’s commerce commissioner, Mike Rothman, has accused three major oil companies – Chevron, ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips – of “double-dipping” after an investigation revealed they had claimed recompense from the state’s Petroleum Tank Release Cleanup Fund as well as receiving insurance proceeds.
