Mixed use scheme – service charges – major works – consultation requirements

In this section we raise awareness of two recent decisions concerning the consultation requirements imposed by s20 Landlord and Tenant Act 1985. Although the requirements relate to predominantly residential schemes, they do apply to mixed use schemes and can have a major impact and restrict severely the amount that the landlord might be able to recover from its tenants.
