Sector losses limited despite fear of Greek exit

Fitch says impact on insurance depends on whether exit is orderly or disorderly

Although it is not immediately obvious from our table, the week ending May 24 actually represents a period of recovery for the insurance and reinsurance stocks tracked by Insurance Day. Compared with the sharp deterioration sector stocks suffered over the previous two weeks, the modest gains achieved and the reduced and mostly marginal losses suffered during the week under review suggest the broader financial markets, which have plummeted for much of the month of May, are finally due for another upturn.
