EC publish final MiFID II proposals

On 20 October, the European Commission published its long-awaited formal legislative proposals to amend the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II), consisting of two parallel pieces of legislation: a Directive repealing Directive 2004/39/EC ¹, and a Regulation ² focusing primarily on all requirements relating to market and supervisory disclosure. The Commission, at the same time, issued its proposals for amending the EU’s market abuse regime ³.
