£100,000 in compensation for eye injury
A former painter and decorator who was nearly blinded in one eye after an accident at work has been awarded £100,000 in compensation.
He was carrying out decorating work at a department store in London at the time of the incident. A long-handled, extendable
brush that had been left unlocked suddenly opened and extended, striking him in the left eye. He had to undergo four operations
and numerous smaller procedures. He has also suffered a significant amount of lost earnings as a result.
