£1.3m food poisoning claim settled
A man who was left disable as a result of salmonella poisoning has been awarded £1.3m in compensation. He contracted salmonella
from food consumed from a local takeaway. He became so ill as a result he was left permanently disabled and now requires assistance
with everyday tasks. His solicitor negotiated with the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, which handled the case following
the liquidation of the original insurance company, and agreed a settlement of £1.3m to help fund the extra care the man will
require for the rest of his life.
