Supreme Court decision affects experts in civil proceedings

The Supreme Court has given a judgement that will affect accountants who act as experts in civil proceedings, either as expert forensic accountants in commercial litigation cases or on an ad hoc basis such as advisers in tax or audit negligence claims. The Supreme Court abolished the traditional immunity given to such expert witnesses in respect of their negligence.
