Keep the red flags flying

Internal threats from rogue employees are pernicious but tried and tested alert mechanisms offer effective defence as Les Dobie of Grant Thornton describes.

Earlier this year CIFAS, the UK’s Fraud Prevention Service, published data from its Staff Fraud Database, which indicated a 69% increase in dishonest and fraudulent behaviour by members’ employees in the first half of 2009, compared with the last half of 2008.[1]
