The Allocation and Transfer of Proceedings Order 2008 No 2836 (L 18)

Practice Direction (Allocation and Transfer of Proceedings) [2008 All ER (D) 118 (Nov)]

The new Order, which came into force on 25 November, and its supplementary practice direction of 3 November, make provision for the allocation and transfer of proceedings between courts in the family jurisdiction namely the High Court, county courts, and the magistrates’ Family Proceedings Courts (FPCs). It revokes the Children (Allocation of Proceedings) Order 1991, The Family Law Act 1996 (Part IV) (Allocation of Proceedings) Order 1997, and the Children (Allocation of Proceedings) (Appeals) Order 1991, and seeks to implement policy proposals aimed at managing growing demands on the High Court bench in all jurisdictions.
