MUNICH RE WORKING WITH CHINESE GOVERNMENT ON MICRO-INSURANCE

German reinsurer Munich Re has said that it is working closely with the Chinese government to offer micro-insurance to those living in rural parts of China. It said that it was developing infrastructure projects jointly with the government, including roads and bridges. Munich Re chief executive for Greater China and South-east Asia Ulrich Trumpp told BestWeek that economic growth in China had led the regulator to consolidate the domestic insurance market. Mr Trumpp felt that with the continuous economic growth that was being experienced in China, “we anticipate that there are lots of infrastructure investments”.
