LLOYDS WARNED OVER DOING BUSINESS IN BURMA

The UK government has issued a warning to London insurance market Lloyds over its continued dealings with Burma. The UK’s Foreign Office has written to Lloyds chairman Lord Levene to remind him that Lloyds is breaching government rules by proving insurance cover to state-owned companies in Burma. According to UK newspaper The Observer, Lord Levene has consequently written to Lloyds insurers urging them to consider their dealings in the politically controversial Asia state.
