£250,000 for back injury

A man working as a contract electrician has been awarded £250,000 for the back injuries he sustained when he fell at work. He was working as a contract electrician when the incident occurred. He was walking from the substation to the compressor shed to carry out maintenance work. To get to the compressor shed he walked on a raised walkway past the slurry area when his right foot broke through a thin skin of hardened cement slurry, he lost his footing, twisting his back which caused severe pain but managed to prevent himself falling to the ground.
