No damages for mental scarring

A builder who was left mentally scarred by the memory of a workmate’s horrific death on the Wembley Stadium construction site has been refused compensation. The man was on the scene within minutes after a work platform weighing a third-of-a-ton fell 60 feet to the ground, on top of his friend. He climbed underneath the three-metre-wide buckled platform to comfort his stricken friend who died at the scene. The man was left with post traumatic stress disorder. He did not work for three years after the incident and there are doubts whether he can ever return to the construction industry.
