SEC prepares to scrap US GAAP
The US could adopt international financial reporting standards (IFRS) by 2014 under a new proposed roadmap that would replace
US GAAP for the new accounting standard. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said it will make a decision on whether
to adopt IFRS in 2011 and it has released the proposal for public comment following a unanimous vote amongst its five commissioners.
