Costs on small claims appeals to be limited?
Although there is a limit to between-the-parties costs in small claims when a small claim goes to appeal, the successful party
is able to claim costs, including solicitors’ costs. For example, if someone sues a multinational corporation for defective
goods and wins, they could face the possibility of an appeal with the prospect of having to pay full legal costs against them,
if they lose. This can discourage people from bringing small claims or appealing decisions.
