PICC PROVIDES OLYMPIC COVER FOR CHINESE DELEGATION

Insurance cover for the Chinese delegation at the Beijing Olympics is being provided by Hong Kong-listed PICC Property and Casualty Company Limited. The insurer, the sole official insurance partner of the 29th Olympic Games, confirmed it was offering accident life insurance cover totalling Yuan1.7bn to the delegation. Specifically it is providing Yuan1m cover for the 1,700-strong athletes and coaches attending the Olympics and Para-Olympics in Beijing next month. It also covers officials at the Beijing Organising Committee for the games. The deal represents the largest insurance cover offered to the Chinese delegation at any Olympics.
