DAI-ICHI TAKES 24% STAKE IN THAILAND’S OCEAN LIFE

Japan’s second largest life insurer Dai-ichi Mutual is expanding its footprint in southeast Asia by acquiring a 24% stake in Thailand's Ocean Life Insurance Company. The investment builds on an agreement signed earlier this year under which they sell group insurance to Japanese companies in Thailand. Ocean Life is Thailand’s seventh largest life insurer and enjoyed premium revenue equivalent to Yen28.6bn last year, a statement from Dai-ichi indicated.
