TOKIO MARINE IN MALAYSIAN TAKAFUL DISTRIBUTION DEAL

Tokio Marine has teamed up with Malaysian finance company Aeon Credit, which will distribute its general takaful products in the country. Initially Aeon Credit, a subsidiary of Aeon Credit Japan and part of the Aeon Group, will sell Tokio Marine’s general takaful products through 26 outlets in Malaysia. By the end of the year it hopes to extend the product range to include family takaful. Tokio Marine, which launched a takaful joint venture in Malaysia in 2006, is the only Japanese insurer operating in the country.
