SULPICIO LINES’ INSURANCE COVER APPROVED BY PHILIPPINES AUTHORITIES

New passenger liability insurance guidelines introduced in the Philippines have been met by Sulpicio Lines the owner of the m/v Princess of the Stars, which sank in typhoon Fengshen at the end of last month. According to the Philippines’ Maritime Industry Authority (Marina), Sulpicio Lines’ insurance coverage, which was written in the local market, was approved by the Insurance Commission. According to Philippines news agency Sunnex, Sulpicio Lines is providing Peso200,000 death benefit to the victims and additional accidental benefits, such as accidental medical expense for treatment of injuries and repatriation expenses for transport of mortal remains back to their residences.
