SAMPSON RESIGNS FROM AXA LIFE JAPAN
AXA has announced the resignation of Paul Sampson, chief executive of
Axa Life Japan and
Axa Japan Holdings. The company said in a statement that Sampson had decided to return to his family in Australia and that he
would stay on as a non-executive director of
Axa Asia-Pacific Holdings. He will be replaced at
Axa Japan by Mark Pearson, who heads
Axa’s Asia Life platform, which handles life insurance activities in the Asia region, excluding Japan. Sampson had been working
at
Axa Japan since 2000, and succeeded Philippe Donnet as chief executive two years ago. “I have enjoyed immensely my career with
Axa but after being away from Australia for so long I am now looking forward to being with my family and exploring new opportunities
there,” Sampson said.
