Mareva injunction - Insurance policy proceeds paid out after date of order
In December 1982 the plaintiffs obtained a Mareva injunction against Mr. T. restraining him from disposing of his assets or
any interest in his assets within the jurisdiction exceeding £601,500. He was allowed to spend up to £100 per week on ordinary
living expenses. Mr. T. was also ordered to swear an affidavit of means and assets. At that time Mr. T. and his wife jointly
owned a house which was subject to an endowment policy mortgage taken out in 1978, which had been assigned to mortgagees as
security. The sum assured was payable on the death of either Mr. T. or his wife.
