Pioneer Commander
which had run aground on a rocky ledge off the northern coast of Scotland. The
Pioneer Commander
was privately owned by United States Lines but was carrying a military cargo owned by the defendants. The value of the cargo
and ship’s bunkers was $6,480,925.
